Description Conduct comprehensive evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients utilizing standardized assessments and observatory methods. Create individualized treatment plans tailored to achieve short-term goals and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs. Deliver bespoke speech therapy interventions focused on communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing challenges. Collaborate with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to establish cohesive care plans. Provide educational support for patients and families to endorse progress outside of the clinical setting. Occasionally perform inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions ensuring a seamless care experience throughout the treatment journey. Document all care accurately and in a timely manner, aligning with state, federal, and organizational standards. Engage in continuous education and collaborative learning to remain abreast of latest industry developments. Education A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution. Completed a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified. Certifications Valid state license as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire. Skills Expertise in evidence-based treatments encompassing all age groups, with deep knowledge of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Exceptional communication skills with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams. Ability to tailor therapy methods for varied cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Strong clinical judgment coupled with advanced problem-solving skills. Fluency in the utilization of electronic medical records and adherence to documentation protocols.
