Cafeteria Float We are seeking a highly adaptable and reliable Cafeteria Floater to join our school Food & Nutrition team. This role involves providing essential support across 16 different school cafeterias, filling in for open positions on a daily basis. The successful candidate will demonstrate flexibility, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to ensuring efficient and friendly food service operations for our students and staff. This position requires daily travel to various school locations within the district, based on staffing needs. Key Responsibilities Dish Room Operations: Operate dishwashing equipment, wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and kitchenware; maintain cleanliness and organization of the dish room area. Serving Line: Serve meals to students and staff with a positive and welcoming attitude, ensuring proper portion control and adherence to food safety guidelines. Hot Team Support: Assist with the preparation and serving of hot food items, maintain food temperatures, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Register Operations: Accurately process meal payments, manage cash and electronic transactions, and maintain confidentiality of student accounts. Cold Food Preparation: Prepare cold food items such as salads, sandwiches, fruit and vegetables, following recipes and sanitation standards. General Cafeteria Support: Assist with setting up and breaking down serving lines, restocking supplies, maintaining clean dining areas, and other duties as assigned to support daily cafeteria operations. Qualifications Experience: Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or cafeteria settings preferred, but not required. Training will be provided. Skills: Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, strong communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to food safety. Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks. Reliability: Punctuality and consistent attendance are crucial due to the nature of filling daily needs across multiple locations. Transportation: Reliable transportation is required to travel between various school locations. Compensation and Hours Schedule: 5 days per week, Monday through Friday. Guaranteed Hours: Daily hours will vary, with a minimum of 3 hours and a maximum of 6.5 hours per day. Compensation: All positions will start at $13.00 per hour during a short training period but will increase to $17.43 upon completion oftraining and positive review from manager.
