Join a collaborative hospital team providing inpatient acute care, dysphagia management, and cognitive-communication services in North Georgia. Job Details Position: Travel Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) - Hospital Acute Care Location: Canton, GA 30115 (North Georgia; near Atlanta metro area) Start Date: March 30, 2026 End Date: June 27, 2026 Contract Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (varies) Shift Duration: 8-hour days Hours per Week: 40 (guaranteed) Schedule: Minimum 2 weekends per 4 weeks (preferred 4 weekends per 4 weeks) Employment Type: Travel / Contract - travel SLP, acute care SLP, hospital SLP Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,580-$1,690 Job Requirements / Qualifications Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist in an acute care or hospital setting (acute care SLP, hospital SLP) Licensure / Certification: CCC-SLP (ASHA) required; BLS (Basic Life Support) required Clinical Skills: Prior acute care experience highly desirable; proficiency with Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) and/or Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) is a plus Eligibility: Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of Canton, GA Preferred: Experience with ICU/ventilator patients, complex dysphagia, and cognitive-communication disorders Primary Responsibilities Provide evaluation and treatment for acute care inpatients per physician orders throughout the hospital (acute care SLP duties) Support diverse medical and surgical diagnoses including ICU patients, stroke/neurological conditions, dysphagia, respiratory compromise, and cognitive-communication disorders Conduct bedside swallow evaluations, recommend safe diet modifications, and implement dysphagia interventions Perform clinical assessments and treatment planning for medically complex patients, including cognitive-communication therapy Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, respiratory therapy, and the interdisciplinary care team to develop patient-centered care plans Document evaluations, progress notes, and discharge recommendations per hospital and regulatory standards (EMR documentation) Educate patients, families, and caregivers on swallowing safety, communication strategies, and home carryover recommendations Why choose this travel SLP job?
