We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Special Inspector to join our team in Boise, Idaho. About the Role The Senior Special Inspector plays a key role in monitoring construction projects for alignment with building codes, approved plans, and industry standards. This position involves on-site inspections, material testing, and detailed documentation to support quality assurance and control efforts. Key ResponsibilitiesConduct on-site inspections to assess alignment with building codes, specifications, and contract documents Perform QA/QC tests on construction materials in accordance with AASHTO, ASTM, IBC, and other standards Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, and observations Operate, maintain, and calibrate field and lab testing equipment Use company vehicles responsibly and arrive at job sites in a timely and professional manner Communicate effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and clients Interpret safety rules, project plans, and testing procedures; write clear and professional reports Meet deadlines and deliver timely, accurate reports Perform calculations and interpret test results with precision Manage multiple tasks efficiently and transition smoothly between assignments Follow STRATA's policies and uphold high ethical standards QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED 5 plus years of experience in multi-discipline special inspections, including commercial, infrastructure, and transportation projects Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Willingness to travel, work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed Ability to lift/move 75+ pounds and work in varying weather conditions Required Certifications Hold International Code Council (ICC) and/or American Concrete Institute (ACI) certifications in at least three (3) of the following areas: ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I ICC Soils ICC Reinforced Concrete ICC Structural Masonry ICC Prestressed Concrete ICC Structural Welding and/or Bolting ICC Fireproofing Preferred CertificationsAWS Certified Welding Inspector ASNT Non-Destructive Testing (VT, MT, PT, UT, etc.) Why Join STRATA?
