Patient ratios are 1:1 for the circulator. PACU ratio can be up to 2 patients, with pre-op ratios of 1:1 during questioning but may increase to 1:3 during waiting periods. There is 1 circulator and 1 technician in the room. A designated scope washer is available for the shift. Type of equipment includes Olympus scopes, OER elite washer, and ION robot. Documentation systems used are Meditech Expanse and Provation. Scheduling requirements vary from 6 AM to 3 PM, Monday to Friday, based on assignment. The floating policy includes potential floating to the ASC and other surrounding facilities as needed. Patient experience requirements focus on providing high-quality care. The requested skill set includes RNs to circulate and tech. Candidates must have the ability to perform advanced procedures such as ERCP and EUS. Credentials and experience must exceed 1 year according to scope of practice. Advanced skills needed include the ability to perform ERCP, EUS, robotic bronchoscopy, and EBUS. Procedures performed on the unit include colonoscopy, EGD, Pill Cam, Bravos, ERCP, EUS, EBUS, ION, and bronchoscopy. Dress code requires hospital-issued scrubs. Unit guidelines and policies are available upon request. A huddle is conducted prior to the start of each day.
