JOB DESCRIPTION Wage Rate: $19.35 per hour (may be eligible for a possible wage increase, if re-hired for a second or third season) Cemeteries Division: Maintenance and operation of mowers and trimmers, may assist with grave digging operations. Term of positions: 3- and 6-month positions available starting no earlier than April 1 and ending no later than October 31. Typical work schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Engineering Division (Survey): Work as a survey field crew member employing such tools as chains to measure distance, plumb bobs, range poles, level rods and magnetic locators. Duties include, but not limited to: driving wooden stakes for grade, running line and grade on survey projects, operating an electronic total station survey instrument and driving the survey vehicle, along with other manual labor as required. Term of positions: Tentatively late April to mid-December. Typical work schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with overtime as required. Parks Division: Operate mowers, trimmers and leaf blowers, garbage clean-up, and custodial duties in park facilities, painting, and some heavy labor. Term of positions: 3- and 6-month positions available starting no earlier than April 1 and ending no later than October 31. Typical work hours: Monday through Friday between 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Streets Division: Patch streets, mow grass, clean catch basins, cut brush, load and unload materials, trim trees and hedges. Term of positions: 3- and 6-month positions available starting no earlier than April 1 and ending no later than October 31. Typical work schedule: Monday through Thursday 6:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. OR Tuesday through Friday 6:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Utilities Division: Work with a team to inspect and flush sanitary sewers, storm sewers and manholes, paint fire hydrants, and locate structures for construction. BENEFITS AVAILABLE IMMEDIATELY UPON EMPLOYMENTPaid Holidays if Normally Scheduled to Work New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. The employee must be normally scheduled to work the holiday or observed holiday, and be in an in-pay status (working or taking floating holiday for their regular number of hours) the day before and the day after each holiday to be eligible for holiday pay. Floating Holidays 24 hours of floating holiday leave to be taken at the employee's discretion with supervisory approval each year, except as noted below. Employees hired January 1 - June 30 are entitled to 24 hours of floating holiday leave during the first year of hire. Employees hired July 1 - December 31 are entitled to 12 hours of floating holiday leave during the first year. Employees terminating prior to July 1 are entitled to 12 hours of floating holiday leave. Floating holidays not used within the calendar year will be forfeited. Sick Leave 24 hours per year accruable to 240 hours. Wisconsin Retirement System All City employees who meet Wisconsin Retirement System requirements are enrolled upon obtaining eligibility. As required by state law and upon becoming eligible, the City and the employee are each required to contribute into the Wisconsin Retirement System. The total contribution is 14.4% of earnings, with the City and the employee each contributing 7.2%. Life Insurance (Department of Employee Trust Funds) If enrolled in the Wisconsin Retirement System, available participation in the Basic, Supplemental, Additional, and Spouse and Dependent life insurance program. The employee is responsible for the monthly premium amount. The amount of insurance is dependent upon the annual salary of the employee.
