This position offers an opportunity to care for diverse MedSurg/Telemetry patients within a supportive 32-bed unit at a well-established Level 3 Trauma hospital. The patient population includes cases such as stroke, respiratory illnesses (flu, pneumonia, COVID), renal failure, peritoneal dialysis, and wound care. An average patient ratio of 1:5 allows for quality nursing care with the assistance of dedicated CNAs and support staff. Qualifications & Experience: Current RN licensure with BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications Minimum 2 years of MedSurg/Telemetry nursing experience Skilled in cardiac rhythm interpretation and management of non-titrating cardiac drips (Cardizem/Amiodarone) Experience with wound care, drain and tube management, PIV starts, and central line care Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive nursing care for MedSurg and Telemetry patients Monitor cardiac rhythms and administer relevant cardiac treatments Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including phlebotomy, respiratory therapy, hospitalists, and intensivists available 24/7 Utilize technology such as Epic EMR, IV pumps, medication dispensing systems, and virtual nursing support equipped with VNO cameras Float within the regional network as needed, with travel time compensated Schedule & Location: Based in Albemarle, North Carolina, with float assignments within nearby regional facilities Contract assignment duration from early February to early May Free parking and professional orientation included Unit members wear navy scrubs and foster a patient-centered, collaborative, and positive culture About Albemarle, NC: Albemarle is a welcoming community known for its charming small-town feel and beautiful natural surroundings.
