The role includes maintaining accounting records and general ledgers, auditing, reconciling, and approving various reports, processing foster care pre-bills and payments, and posting financial transactions. The position regularly interacts with the Department of Family Protective Services (DFPS) staff, representatives from facilities, shelters, foster homes, and the public. Essential Job Functions (EJFs): Processes Supplemental and/or Back Billing Information Responds to Inquiries (Verbal/Written) Regarding Various Accounting Issues Processes and Researches Foster Care Pre-Bill Information and Submits Rejected Line Items Maintains Automated and Manual Files on Transactions Regarding Payments Audits and Proofs Various Accounting Reports Performs Other Duties as Assigned to Maintain Unit Operations Promotes and Demonstrates Respect for Cultural Diversity Attends Work Regularly in Accordance with Agency Leave Policy Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs): The ideal candidate should possess: Knowledge: Basic accounting principles and practices. Ability to analyze, consolidate, and interpret accounting data. Skills: Effective verbal and written communication. Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
