School Physical Therapist | Hamden, Connecticut

This opportunity is for a Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant to provide school-based services in two educational settings located in Hamden, CT. The position supports students aged 6 to 21, with a caseload that includes those with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Seizure Disorders, Genetic Syndromes such as Fragile X, Metabolic Disorders, Dual Diagnoses, and students preparing for vocational transition at age 22. The role is set within a strong behavioral program grounded in ABA principles. Responsibilities: Conduct assessments and develop individualized physical therapy plans that align with student needs and IEP goals. Provide direct therapy services and consultative support across multiple school environments. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams comprising educators, occupational and speech therapists, and vocational support staff. Support students' functional mobility, safety, and independence within both academic and vocational settings. Document services and student progress consistent with school and state guidelines. Qualifications: Valid Connecticut Physical Therapy license or eligibility to obtain it before starting. Experience in school-based or pediatric physical therapy preferred. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Commitment to inclusive and student-centered approaches. Location: Hamden, Connecticut (2 school sites) Schedule & Contract Details: Monday-Friday, full school days (up to 40 hours per week); part-time applicants will be considered. Contract duration: Immediate start to June 12, 2026.
