Experience with surgical drains, chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, high flow nasal cannula, oxygen administration, wound care/wound vac is required. Description: The position is for a registered nurse specializing in medical surgical care. The nurse will be responsible for providing care to patients who have experienced trauma, including geriatric trauma and acute care surgeries. Patient diagnoses primarily come from emergency departments, operating rooms, or intensive care units. The nurse will work in a level I trauma center with a diverse patient population. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, and pharmacy. The daily census ranges from 50 to 55 patients. The unit has a focus on trauma care and surgical recovery. The nurse will be expected to float within the service line as needed to meet facility needs. Weekend work is required every other weekend.
