WDAV Radio Experience Summer Internship

Job Description WDAV Classical Public Radio is seeking a qualified student who wants to learn the ins and outs of non-profit work. The WDAV Radio Experience Summer Intern will receive hands-on experience in various areas of station operations, including: administration, membership, digital media, marketing, underwriting, and production. This internship provides an opportunity to explore the "back office," community relations, and broadcast aspects of non-profit work, specifically as it relates to classical music and public media. Training in all relevant work areas will be provided. Duties may include: Checking recorded voice tracks Creating SoundExchange Reporting Updating playlists for our Concierto program Posting content to the Concierto social media platforms Creating, editing, and submitting new content for WDAV digital platforms Creating, editing, and submitting content for weekly e-news Attending meetings as assigned Learning how to effectively use social media for business Data management and analytics Conducting research/reporting findings Planning of programs and events The Ideal Candidate: Demonstrates a spirit of curiosity Loves learning Demonstrates an interest in non-profit work Is an effective writer with a pleasing/readable style Should be comfortable with prioritizing projects and tasks Demonstrates efficiency in their work Looks for creative solutions to problems/issues Can transition easily between highly varied tasks and projects Is extremely reliable, pays attention to detail Can work independently/remotely with minimal supervision Is a social media user Is an excellent interpersonal communicator Understands the value in a diverse and inclusive workplace Information about how to submit an application can be found at About Us Davidson is a highly selective, nationally ranked, residential liberal arts college located in Davidson, North Carolina, near Charlotte.
