Job Title: Assembly Mechanic Employee Type: Full Time, Hourly Shifts Available: 2nd Shift (2:00pm - 10:30pm); Monday - Friday Rate: $18.00/hr - $22.00/hr - dependent upon experience Reports to: Processing Manager Job Location: Wichita, KS, USA Experience: 2+ years prior work experience in airframe assemblies Job Duties: Trimming, Routing Assemble, disassemble, and rework aircraft structures by using various hand tools as well as electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment Utilize skills in basic sheet metal, riveting, assembly methods and common shop practices Expert knowledge of various sealant methods (fillet, fay, injection & electrical bond) and processes Knowledgeable and able to inspect assemblies and airframe structures for non-conformance and report discrepancies to manufacturing self-examination (MSE), cause and corrective action (CCA), or operations supervision Read, interpret and work from blueprints, sketches and written/verbal instructions Must be accurate, familiar and proficient in drilling close tolerance holes Work with precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, standard scales, bore scopes, etc. Maintain clean and organized work area on a daily basis Follow company and OSHA safety requirements as necessary Assist with other departments as necessary and directed Requirements: 2+ years prior work experience in airframe assemblies, preferred High School Diploma required Strong organizational skills and strong problem solving skills Willing to work as a team and have a desire for success Must work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment and have good attendance. Physical Requirements: Some overtime and flexible work hours may be necessary Ability to regularly and frequently lift 50 pounds The essential duties job may require intermittent standing, bending, crouching, twisting, pushing, pulling, lifting, moving, carrying light and heavy loads, and climbing stairs and ladders. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate small power tools and other equipment. Exposure to hot and cold work environments. Must be able to wear a respirator and other safety PPE equipment, as required. Noise levels must require hearing protection.
