Job Title: Grinder/Shop Labor Job DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated Grinder/Shop Laborer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring high-quality finishes on metal items through various tasks such as cleaning, deburring, polishing, and grinding. You will work closely with blueprints and production paperwork to maintain precise dimensions and quality standards.Responsibilities Clean, deburr, polish, and grind metal items using hand tools or powered equipment while maintaining contours, edges, and precise dimensions. Read and interpret blueprints and production paperwork, including grain direction and any special handling instructions. Inspect completed parts to ensure finish meets company quality standards. Operate tumbling machines to deburr, smooth, and burnish parts. Use buffing or grinding wheels safely and effectively. Perform heavy lifting as needed during daily tasks. Accurately enter job quantities and labor data into the computer system. Perform other duties as assigned to support shop operations. Essential Skills Job history with no job hopping. Hands-on mechanical aptitude. Experience with hand tools. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Additional Skills & Qualifications Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills. Manual dexterity and attention to detail. Comfortable using hand and power tools. Experience with grinding, finishing, or working in a metal fabrication environment is a plus. Willingness to learn and take direction. Be prepared to get your hands dirty. The shop can be warm in the summer as there is no air conditioning. The role requires full-time work from Monday through Friday, 7 am to 3:30 pm, with an expected 40-hour work week.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sharon, MA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
