Pharmacy Manager - Clinical ServicesLocation: San Francisco, California Job Type: Full-Time | Exempt (Day Shift) Primary Site: San Francisco (travel to additional campuses required) Compensation & BenefitsBase Salary: $202,030 - $323,232 annually Annual Incentive Bonus: Up to 15% of base salary Relocation Assistance: Available for qualified candidates Benefits Include: Medical, Dental, Vision Retirement plan options Paid time off Leadership growth opportunities within a large, expanding health system Position Overview We are seeking a highly engaged Clinical Pharmacy Manager to oversee and standardize clinical pharmacy programs across four campuses within a growing healthcare system. This leader will be responsible for advancing clinical initiatives, meeting system-level metrics and goals, and ensuring operational excellence across inpatient pharmacy services. The role also includes oversight of the pharmacy residency program, serving as the Residency Program Director (RPD). This is a high-visibility leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can work independently without micromanagement, and is capable of building strong cross-functional partnerships with physicians, nursing leadership, and executive stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Provide oversight of clinical pharmacy programs across four campuses Standardize clinical services and ensure alignment with system-wide goals Lead and manage approximately 25-28 clinical pharmacists (primarily specialists) and one medication management navigator Serve as Residency Program Director and oversee residency program development and progression Collaborate with physicians, nursing, and interdisciplinary teams to strengthen clinical integration Participate in Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) Committee and additional system-level clinical committees Evaluate clinical initiatives and determine effectiveness, adjusting strategy as needed Maintain department performance aligned with key quality metrics and regulatory standards Support infusion center coverage, including resident rotations and acute issue resolution Participate in rotating on-call leadership coverage (approximately once every 4-6 weeks) Travel to additional campuses approximately every other week for leadership presence and oversight First 6-Month Priorities Establish consistent oversight and standardization of clinical programs across all campuses Successfully manage and advance the pharmacy residency program Build strong, trusted communication channels with physicians, nursing, and clinical staff Foster a collaborative, low-drama, high-performance department culture Required Qualifications Active California Pharmacist License Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited institution Minimum 8 years of progressive inpatient pharmacy experience 2-4 years of pharmacy leadership or management experience preferred Inpatient/acute care background required (outpatient experience alone is not sufficient) Residency training strongly preferred Experience managing clinical pharmacists or specialists preferred Leadership Profile The ideal candidate is: Highly communicative and engaging Able to build respect among clinical specialists Collaborative, yet comfortable constructively challenging ideas Strong in follow-through and accountability Calm, steady, and low-drama in approach Able to discern which initiatives will or will not drive results Comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced environment Skilled at cross-functional communication with physicians and nursing leaders Work Schedule & Structure Primarily day shift leadership role On-site position based in San Francisco Travel to affiliated campuses approximately every other week Rotating on-call leadership coverage (every 4-6 weeks) Exempt from overtime Growth Opportunity This role offers a clear leadership career track within a large and expanding healthcare system.
