Industrial Refrigeration Technician

Snapshot / Role Overview We're seeking an Industrial Refrigeration Technician in Omaha, NE to service and maintain ammonia and CO2 refrigeration systems in cold storage and food processing facilities. Impact • Ensure food safety through reliable refrigeration systems • Support energy efficiency through optimized system operation • Prevent costly downtime through proactive maintenance • Build customer trust through expert service Responsibilities • Service and repair industrial ammonia and CO2 refrigeration systems • Troubleshoot compressors, evaporators, condensers, and controls • Perform preventive maintenance on refrigeration equipment • Respond to emergency service calls 24/7 on-call rotation • Conduct system startups and commissioning • Install and modify refrigeration piping and components • Maintain EPA and IIAR compliance documentation • Train junior technicians on safe ammonia handling Requirements Must-Haves • 7+ years of industrial refrigeration experience • EPA Universal certification • IIAR Assistant Refrigeration Operator certification (or higher) • Strong ammonia refrigeration knowledge and safety practices • Electrical and controls troubleshooting skills Nice-to-Haves • RETA certification • Experience with CO2 cascade systems • PLC programming experience • Welding and brazing certification Compensation & Logistics Competitive hourly rate depending on experience; benefits include health insurance, PTO, holidays, company vehicle, and on-call pay.
