DescriptionJob title: OTR/HE Repair Technician Job description: Holliday Rock has been in the construction material business for over eighty-eight years and is one of the largest independent producers of aggregate, concrete and asphalt in the United States. A diesel mechanic performs mechanical work at the journeyman mechanic level in repairing, maintaining and testing all types of truck, automotive, on highway, off highway, and ready-mix equipment. Length of Training: 12 Weeks Training Plan- All times are Pacific Standard Time Assessments- At the completion of each week, the candidate will meet with the Division Manager to review objectives and provide feedback. Certifications- Upon completion, the candidate will hold the following certifications: 49 CFR 396.19 Inspector Certification 49 CFR 396.25 Brake Inspection Certification EPA 608/609 Certification MSHA Part 46 Week 1:Timeline: Monday-Friday 0800-1630 (30-minute lunch break from 12:30-1:00) Specific learning objectives: Day 1: Onboarding, OSHA training, MSHA training, site tours Day 2: Introduction to Preventive Maintenance Scheduling and standards 90 Day BIT Program, Federal Vehicle Inspection, FMSCA, DOT, Cal DOT Day 3: Bendix Brake Inspection and 90-Day Inspection training and Certification (3rd party Training course provided in-house) Day: 4 Workflow, repair order basics, parts billing, inspection templates and procedures, CMMS introductions (Cetaris, UKG, KPA, DG) Day 5: Preventive maintenance services- PM's A,B,C,OS Week 2: Timeline: Monday-Friday 0800-1630 (30-minute lunch break from 12:30-1:00) Specific learning objectives: Day 1: Repair and maintenance of brake systems and related components including mechanical brakes, electric brakes, hydraulic brakes, and air brake systems. Day 2: Repair and maintain air conditioning systems. Day 3: Repair and maintain cooling and heating system. Day 4: CARB HD/IM Testing course (5 hours) and certification (online) Day5: Repair and maintenance of exhaust systems. Week 3:Timeline: Monday-Friday 0800-1630 (30-minute lunch break from 12:30-1:00) Specific learning objectives: Day 1: Overhaul, maintenance and testing of hydraulic systems, including pumps, rams, control valves, lines and hoses Day 2: Service and adjustment of transmissions. Day 3: Repair and maintenance of fuel systems and related components both diesel and CNG. Day 4: Overhaul and maintenance of heavy and light duty suspension systems including heavy leaf springs. Day 5: Repair and maintenance of drive line components. Day 2: R&R Booster Ram / Ram Bushings; Check / Adjust Nitrogen PSI in Booster Ram. Day 3: Test / Replace Main Hydraulic Pump. Day 4: Replace and Fit, Main, Flop and Extension Chutes, Replace Drum Roller Manual override for Chutes, Booster, and Drum rotation. Day 5: T/S and Repair Chute operation issues, Repair/ Replace Drum. Week 7:Timeline: Monday-Friday 0800-1630 (30-minute lunch break from 12:30-1:00) Specific learning objectives: Day 1: Introduction to Off-Road Heavy Construction Equipment types and functions. Dozers, Excavators, Wheel Loaders, Articulated Trucks, Water trucks, Pumps, Generators. Day 2: Service Truck capabilities, crane maintenance and usage. Day 3: Off road machine controls. (bucket, blade, and ripper). Day 4: Wear parts replacement (Teeth, segments, verticals, and Edges). Day 5: Continuation of day 4. Week 8:Timeline: Monday-Friday 0800-1630 (30-minute lunch break from 12:30-1:00) Specific learning objectives: Day 1: Hydraulic trouble shooting andCylinder replacement. Day 2: Voltmeter understanding, 24-volt diagnostics. Day 3: Cranking/Charging systems. Day 4: A/C cooling and heating systems. Day 5: Engine cooling system. Week 9:Timeline: Monday-Friday 0800-1630 (30-minute lunch break from 12:30-1:00) Specific learning objectives: Day 1: R&R gear box seals replacement. Day 2: Driveshaft repair and replacement. Day 3: Axle repair and replacement. Day 4: Track and Suspension maintenance. Day 5: General Cab and Chassis maintenance. Week 10:Timeline: Monday-Friday 0800-1630 (30-minute lunch break from 12:30-1:00) Specific learning objectives: Day 1: J1939 communication Day 2: CAT ET, Volvo Connect, Komatsu onboard Diagnostics Day 3: Diagnostics, engines, Transmissions, and Hydraulics systems (CAT).
