RN Med Surg | Lebanon, New Hampshire

A skilled RN Charge Nurse is sought to lead and provide high-quality patient care while managing unit operations. This role requires strong clinical expertise, leadership, and critical thinking to ensure the best outcomes for patients and support for nursing staff. The Charge Nurse functions as both a clinical nurse and unit coordinator, fostering professional nursing behaviors, mentoring new nurses, and maintaining smooth day-to-day activities on the assigned shift. Responsibilities include: Managing patient care for a small assignment (1-3 patients) while supervising and delegating tasks to LPNs, RNs, and LNAs Coordinating nursing assignments and employee breaks based on patient acuity, admissions, and discharges Assisting nursing staff with patient care and monitoring lab/diagnostic results; facilitating referrals and interdepartmental communication Addressing employee performance concerns and resolving conflicts promptly Ensuring accurate and timely documentation of patient charts Communicating effectively with nursing teams and hospital management regarding unit operations, bed availability, admissions, transfers, and discharges Serving as the main resource and house supervisor during off shifts (nights, weekends, holidays), collaborating with administrators and other hospitals for patient transfers Qualifications/Desired Experience: Current RN license with experience in medical-surgical nursing Demonstrated leadership and mentorship abilities Excellent critical thinking and communication skills Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams efficiently in a fast-paced environment Location: Position located in Lebanon, NH, a vibrant community known for its scenic beauty, outdoor activities, and welcoming atmosphere.
