General Information Press space or enter keys to toggle section visibility Work Location: Los Angeles, CA, USAOnsite or Remote Fully On-Site Work Schedule Variable Shifts with call, Holidays and Weekends as assigned Posted Date 12/08/2025 Salary Range: $93.95 - 93.95 Hourly Employment Type 6 - Staff: Per Diem Duration indefinite Job # 27893 Primary Duties and Responsibilities Press space or enter keys to toggle section visibility Major functions include serving as a member of the surgical team to function as a Per Diem Physician Assistant for surgical service lines, not limited to but including Urology, General, Gynecology, Thoracic and Cardio-thoracic robotic surgical procedures in the Operating Room. Responsibilities will include collaboration with interdisciplinary team members, set up of the robotic cases, oversight of robotic instrumentation and hardware/software, communication with vendor, teaching of residents, fellows and nursing staff assigned to work for this surgical specialty, recording and storage of video records of procedures. Responsibilities of the Per Diem Physician's Assistant include setting up of the DaVinci robot for a surgical case, placement of trocars in conjunction with resident/fellow members of surgical team, and laparoscopic assistance during the procedure. Primarily interact with the ANI for the various service lines as well as act as a liaison between nursing staff, residents, and physicians to provide effective and consistent surgical care. Making sure that operative cases run smoothly and efficiently. Facilitate operating room turn over and set-up of surgical cases, including facilitation of consent process. Salary (Per Diem): $93.02/hourly Job Qualifications Press space or enter keys to toggle section visibility Required Qualifications: CA PA License required. National Board Certification required. Graduated from an accredited PA program required. (Master's degree in PA program preferred) Minimum 5 years experience preferred, including surgical assisting and preferably with laparoscopic experience. Previous PA experienced- required Current BCLS certification from AHA or ARC- required. Current ACLS certification from AHA- required. Experience working with surgical patients in the in-patient setting. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and collaborative working relationships with administrative, clinical and academic personnel. Ability to assess and act on psychosocial needs of patients with neurological disease Ability to work independently and deal effectively with changing priorities. Knowledge of hospital resources available and appropriate use of those resources. Experience in case management and pathway development Experience with and ability to utilize Excel, Access and Word Skill in teaching- required Knowledge, skill, and ability to perform patient history and physical assessment-required Skill and ability in written and verbal communication-required Knowledge of interdisciplinary resources needed to coordinate patient care and facilitate referral-required Skill in removal of chest tubes, temporary pacing wires, and sutures/staples-required Knowledge and skill in wound care and treatment-required Skill in organizing and prioritizing-required Ability to ready, interpret, apply, and or follow physician orders, policies, procedures, and written/verbal instructions-required Ability to work varying shifts As a condition of employment, the final candidate who accepts an offer of employment will be required to disclose if they have been subject to any final administrative or judicial decisions within the last seven years determining that they committed any misconduct; or have filed an appeal of a finding of substantiated misconduct with a previous employer.
