Job Description

Aerospace is at a turning point - costs are rising, supply chains are strained, and old ways of building can't keep up. At Neon Aero, we're breaking that mold. We move fast, think big, and combine start-up agility with aerospace expertise to design, build, and scale aircraft in ways the industry has never seen. Our team leverages automation, AI-driven tools, and a fully connected digital backbone to accelerate innovation and reduce barriers to production. Here, you won't just take a job - you'll help reinvent how the world flies. If you're ready to solve complex problems, push technology further, and work alongside some of the brightest minds in aerospace, this is your chance to make a real impact. At Neon Aero, quality starts at the door. As a Receiving Inspector, you are the first line of defense in our aerospace supply chain-verifying that every incoming material, component, and assembly meets strict engineering requirements and compliance standards before it enters production. If you're detail-obsessed, confident with precision tools, and comfortable holding the line on standards, this role is built for you. Why This Role Matters: Visual & Dimensional Inspection: Perform detailed visual and physical inspections of incoming aerospace parts (raw materials, hardware, complex assemblies). Use precision tools as required (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, thread gauges, etc.). Documentation Verification: Review and validate supplier documentation, including Certificates of Conformance (CoC), Material Test Reports (MTR), Certificates of Analysis, and other applicable records. System Compliance: Confirm all received items match purchase order (PO), drawings, and/or customer specifications. Scan and attach vendor paperwork in the ERP system; enter inspection/verification results as required. Non-Conformance Management: Identify, tag, and segregate non-conforming materials. Initiate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and report program nonconformances to the appropriate Quality Engineers (QEs). First Article Inspection (FAI): Support or perform FAIs per AS9102 to validate new production parts. Audit Support: Assist with internal and external QMS audits for compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and FAA requirements. Calibration / Gage Tracking: Partner with Operations to collect expired inspection equipment for recalibration and/or replacement. Other duties as assigned. What you'll Bring High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; technical or trade school coursework acceptable; equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Minimum 3 years of experience in quality. Proficiency reading and interpreting engineering blueprints and complex technical drawings. Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (ASME Y14.5). Familiarity with AS9100 Quality Management Systems and aviation regulatory standards. Ability to lift or maneuver parts up to 40 lbs. Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and work in a manufacturing environment. Ability to pass a visual acuity exam (Snellen 20/25 or similar) and color discrimination test. Experience operating automated inspection equipment such as CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines) or Faro/Romer Arms (enables flexibility in assignments) preferred. Inspection experience in aerospace, defense, or other high-precision manufacturing environments preferred Why work for us: Work alongside elite engineering talent and innovators from across aerospace and tech. Be part of a team moving faster than the industry standard. Shape solutions that are lower-cost, autonomous, and scalable - the future of aviation. Competitive compensation, growth opportunities, and full health benefits (health, vision, dental, 401K) designed to support you in and out of work. This pay range is specific to the location where the role is posted. Final pay will depend on experience, skill level, and other job-related factors. Location-Specific Pay Range $26-$27.50 USD Neon Aero, Inc is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
