Inclusive Excellence StatementAdvertised Job Summary Serves as Assistant Dean for Student Services for the College of Engineering and Computing. Plans, directs and manages undergraduate student services including orientation, advisement, retention, and graduation activities. Contributes to smooth operation of associated offices, including workflow and organizational design. Assumes duties of the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in his/her absence. Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)Preferred Qualifications • Experience with supervising employees, applying university policies, managing orientation and advising activities, coordinating retention programs, managing collaborative educational programs, and managing administrative functions at a comprehensive university. • Ability to handle complex and confidential academic issues, interacting with students, families, faculty and other stakeholders. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities • Detail-oriented and able to handle multiple concurrent tasks and frequent interruptions. • Excellent oral and written communication skills. • Confident as well as conscientious and personable. • Teamwork.
