Role Our client is actively expanding its Casualty support staff by adding an Underwriting Assistant due to a recent promotion. This person needs to sit in either Alpharetta GA or Scottsdale AZ.About Our Client Our client is a $250M capitalized start-up insurance company focused on writing non-admitted business through a select group of wholesale broker trading partners. Casualty Platform Overview 18 underwriters and 3 UAs currently across Primary and Excess Casualty Separate Primary and Excess teams, both reporting into the Head of Brokerage Casualty Focus on small to middle market risks Target industries include construction, manufacturing, hospitality, and select habitational exposures Portfolio Profile Primary Casualty: Average account size: $50K-$75K Excess Casualty (unsupported): Average account size: $75K-$100K Distribution Model Purposefully limited distribution to top-tier wholesale brokers Current partners include large national wholesale platforms Broader distribution expansion planned as the company scales Growth & Opportunity $80M in written premium in 2025 , exceeding the initial $60M target 2026 goal is to double the book , creating strong demand for additional underwriting talent Opportunity to join a growing platform early and help shape underwriting strategy and broker relationships Why This Opportunity:Flexibility & Autonomy Offices in Scottsdale, AZ; Alpharetta, GA; and Summit, NJ More than half of the underwriting team works remotely High level of underwriting authority and trust Leadership & Culture Led by highly experienced executives within the E&S community Leadership is approachable, responsive, and collaborative Strong emphasis on professionalism, integrity, and long-term partnerships
