The City of Hampton is seeking an experienced HVAC Maintenance Mechanic to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will install, repair, replace, and maintain heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), and related equipment in City-owned or occupied buildings. You will work under general supervision, following set procedures while determining how or when to complete tasks. Minimum Requirements High school diploma or GED Three (3) years of full-time equivalent experience in HVAC maintenance or closely related experience. Must have and maintain Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) certification in the State of Virginia. Must possess a valid driver's license and must have and maintain a satisfactory driver's record based on the City of Hampton's criteria. Must successfully pass a background check prior to any offer of employment or promotion. Additional Requirements May require shift work to include nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call emergency standby. The incumbent may be considered "essential personnel" during City emergency situations or at the direction of the City Manager which may include long hours and unusual schedules. to view complete job description.
