Travel Radiation Therapist

American Traveler is seeking a Radiation Therapist with 5 years of experience for a 13-week outpatient and inpatient Radiation Oncology Clinic assignment, with required proficiency in Varian TrueBeam and specialty treatment techniques. Job Details • Radiation Oncology Clinic setting, both outpatient and inpatient, • Adult and geriatric patient population, • Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts (8:00-16:30), • Limited call required; no floating, • Specialty treatments include respiratory gating/breath hold for left breast, stereotactic radiosurgery, craniospinal, and beam data acquisition, • Required imaging and general skills include CBCT/kV/mV imaging, wedges, beam modifiers, and chart checks, • Pre-treatment experience required in CT simulation, • Uses Varian TrueBeam linear accelerator (required); ETHOS preferred, • Documents in ARIA and McKesson (required); Impac MOSAIQ and Cerner preferred, • Holiday coverage required, with at least 50% of holidays during the contract worked, Job Requirements • Minimum 5 years of radiation therapy experience required, with at least 1 year in the specialty, • Adult and geriatric experience required, • Both adult outpatient and inpatient experience required, • BLS and ASRT certifications required, • ARRT certification preferred, • Proficiency with Varian TrueBeam linear accelerator required, • Experience with CBCT/kV/mV imaging, wedges, beam modifiers, and chart checks required, • Respiratory gating/breath hold for left breast, stereotactic radiosurgery, craniospinal, and beam data acquisition experience required, • CT simulation experience required, • Cerner charting experience preferred, • Active license required if applicable, • 2 references required for consideration, • Ability to ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs, Additional Information • Preferred skills include block cutting, field shaping, emergency cases, and ETHOS experience, • Preferred pre-treatment experience includes custom molds and custom shielding, • Preferred specialty treatment experience includes electron field, heterotopic bone, benign brain tumors, brachytherapy, and GYN cases, • Contouring experience in dosimetry systems is preferred, • First-time travelers are welcome to apply, • Candidates living within 75 miles of the facility are eligible but may be considered at a reduced rate, • Any requested time off must be disclosed at the time of consideration or it will not be approved, • Role involves routine contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses
