License: Current LVN License required. Certifications: BLS, CPI or ProAct or PMAB. Must-Have: - Recent inpatient psychiatric experience preferred. - Familiarity with electronic patient rounding systems. - Experience with various psychiatric diagnoses. Description: Local Behavioral Health unit with variable shifts: 07:00-15:30, 15:00-23:30, and 23:00-07:30. The unit provides care for patients with a variety of psychiatric diagnoses including ADHD, Bipolar Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Eating Disorders, PTSD, Anxiety Disorders, Depression, Major Depressive Disorder, Psychotic Disorders, and Oppositional Defiant Disorder. Special procedures involve the use of electronic patient rounding and a Rover system for documentation. The adult patient population typically includes those with substance use disorders, such as alcohol or opiate withdrawal, and may also present with comorbid conditions like hypertension and diabetes. Patients may include geriatric individuals who are at high risk for falls and those with wounds. Nursing responsibilities include vital sign monitoring, patient assessment, medication administration, patient education, and crisis intervention. Skills required: - Blood glucose monitoring - Wound care and dressing changes - Patient and family education - Pain assessment and management - Medication reconciliation - Experience with behavior management techniques - Knowledge of psychiatric medications - Familiarity with de-escalation protocols. The daily census is approximately 17 patients with a staff-to-patient ratio of 5:1 during both day and night shifts. Interdisciplinary support services include phlebotomy, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and transportation. Candidates must provide a seven-year work history verification for all previous employment and relevant documentation if required. Candidate submissions must include two professional references obtained within the past year.
