Role and Responsibilities This position will serve as a senior member of the finance team and a trusted partner to leadership, oversee core accounting functions and ensure accurate reporting across the organization, help guide financial strategy and strengthen internal processes. This role requires someone who enjoys solving problems and improving systems. Lead general ledger activities and oversee month-end and year-end close processes. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with US GAAP. Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling to support planning efforts. Strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations. Oversee cash flow management and support treasury activities. The Assistant Controller will also support system improvements and reporting tools, guide and mentor accounting staff and promote clear processes. Required Skills and Knowledge Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA is strongly preferred. 3-5 years of experience as a senior accountant, accounting manager, or assistant controller. Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting standards. Experience leading close processes and managing audits. Advanced Excel skills and strong data analysis ability. Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools. Public accounting experience is preferred. Experience mentoring accounting professionals. Rooted in Birmingham. Experts in Accounting. Focused on You.
