Bus Driver

Summary of Duties This position is assigned two AM (elementary and secondary) and two PM (elementary and secondary) routes. Transports students safely to and from school and school related activities and events. Complies with all related laws and regulations pertaining to student transportation. Promotes a positive district image through interactions with students, staff and the community. Reports to Transportation Supervisor Qualifications/Requirements • High school diploma or general education degree GED • Ability to meet school bus driver certification requirements: o Michigan School Bus Driver Education course o Commercial Driver License Examination for CDL B, with P and S plus Air Brakes • Pass Michigan Department of Transportation physical examination requirements • Clear Federal criminal check, includes finger printing • Meet Federal DOT drug/alcohol testing requirements • Free from adverse effects of medication, alcohol, and drugs Compensation Per DESPA Contract FLSA This is a non-exempt position Application Deadline Internal: Friday, December 19, 2025; 4:00 p.m. External: Until Filled Application Process Interested and qualified applicants can apply by going to our website at or by clicking on the DeWitt Public Schools link under the Human Resources/Employment tab.
