APPLICANTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE TO BE CONSIDERED.The Division of Licensing & Certification is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Health Facility Surveyor to join our regulatory oversight team. This role is essential in ensuring the safety, quality, and compliance of Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/IID) and Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facilities (PRTFs). The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, professional judgment, and a commitment to protecting vulnerable populations. Note: Incumbents in these positions travel extensively throughout the state and may be gone as much as 50% or more of their work time, including overnight stays. All positions require travel. This position may be eligible for telework after successful completion of probation and necessary training. Approval to telecommute is not guaranteed and subject to termination at any time. Assess each client's health, social, emotional, rehabilitative and habilitative care needs. Observe facility staff and others providing services to clients. Conduct interviews and determine through professional judgment if the facility/provider is meeting the clients' needs in accordance with the stated regulations and health care standards. Use critical thinking skills and professional judgment to determine if the facility is meeting clients' needs in accordance with the stated regulations and healthcare standards. Write reports that are clear, concise and legally defensible. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position. Typically gained by one year of experience in this area. At least one year of experience providing medical care in a health care delivery system.( e.g., and institution, ICF/IID, clinic, or office setting, either military or civilian). Typically gained by at least one year working in such a setting. Experience with CMS regulations for ICF/IID (42 CFR Part 483 Subpart I). Typically gained by at least one year experience. Experience with PRTF requirements and behavioral health standards. Typically gained by at least one year experience. Prior experience in regulatory compliance, auditing, or quality assurance. Typically gained by at least one year experience.
