School-Based Physical Therapist - West Hartford, ...

This contract position is based in West Hartford, CT, and offers the opportunity to work in two school sites serving students aged 6 to 21 years old. The role is full-time Monday through Friday, with part-time candidates considered, running from ASAP through June 12, 2026. Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized physical therapy plans aligned with students' needs and IEP goals. Provide direct physical therapy services and consultative support across multiple school settings. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including educators, occupational and speech therapists, and vocational support staff. Support students' functional mobility, safety, and independence in both academic and vocational environments. Document all services and student progress in compliance with school and state regulations. Caseload includes students with: Autism Spectrum Disorders Seizure Disorders Genetic Syndromes such as Fragile X Metabolic Disorders Dual Diagnoses Students preparing for vocational transition at age 22 within a strong behavioral program based on ABA principles. Qualifications: Valid Connecticut Physical Therapy license or eligibility to obtain prior to start date. Experience in school-based or pediatric physical therapy preferred.
