Accepting applicants for ASSET MANAGEMENT TECHNICIAN (GIS) with the City of Lewiston. Applications are available from the Human Resources Department or online at GENERAL INFORMATION: Division: Engineering Barg. Unit: AFSCME- Professional Technical Unit (ProTech) Status: Full-Time, 40 hours/week Grade: 5 [$28.84 - $34.15/hour] SUMMARY: Develop, maintain, troubleshoot and organize the Public Works department's Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and Geographic Information System (GIS). EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Two-year post-secondary degree/certificate in Engineering Technology, Applied Geography, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or related field; and at least two (2) years experience (preferably municipal experience) with a CMMS or similar asset management system, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong organizational and effective communication skills, along with the ability to track and follow multiple pieces of information through to completion. Must have a valid Maine driver's license in good standing. WORK ACTIVITIES: Conduct inventory, audit inventory, complete data entry, perform adjustments, and complete updates to the CMMS and GIS layers. Provide front-line support and training to operating staff on the CMMS and GIS. Work with the Finance Department to value the City's infrastructure and ensure the value of assets, maintenance, repairs and replacements are accurately documented. Assist with drafting compliance reports and corrective actions. Operate and maintain asset management mobile applications for utility field data collection. Coordinate related data and media (field reports, sewer inspection videos) that are linked to city GIS in CMMS. Assist with preparation of data for capital and operating programs and budgets. Perform other duties as assigned.
