JOB SUMMARYThe BMHP is responsible for providing initial evaluations, individual, group, couples and/or Family Therapy and case management services as needed for the Behavioral Health Department at WhidbeyHealth in the outpatient clinic setting. In addition, therapists will provide behavioral health consultation services and case management services as needed to the Primary Care outpatient clinics.PRINCIPLE FUNCTIONS include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Consultations about patients. Initial mental health evaluations resulting in realistic treatment plans. Assessing patients using standardized assessment/screening tools, measures, etc. Provide brief, solution focused therapy. Provide group psychoeducation/treatment related to chronic medical conditions. Provide information and referral services. Care coordination. Crisis assessments/triage with appropriate interventions. Provision of other services related to wellness. Documentation of services provided in accordance with requirements. Other related activities designed to provide integrated health care services. Individual psychotherapy with children, adults and families. Documentation in electronic health record. Maintains confidentiality and ensures patient privacy is protected at all times. Collaborates and communicates effectively with other healthcare professionals and support staff. Maintains up to date knowledge of therapeutic techniques and best practices. Other duties as assigned. JOB KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONSLISCW:Education Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from a school of social work accredited by the Council of Social Work Education required. Satisfactory completion of the required supervised practice hours to qualify for obtaining a LICSW certification. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations License as required by Washington DOH to practice as a Social Worker: LICSW (Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker) required. Current BLS HCP required. Maintain a valid WA State Driver’s License, personal automobile insurance, and is insurable with the District’s insurance carrier. LMFT:Education Master’s degree or doctorate in marriage and family therapy from a nationally or regionally accredited institution. Satisfactory completion of the required 2 years of supervised practice. Satisfactory passage of the National Examination in Marital and Family Therapy Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Active and unrestricted Washington State LMFT Licensure. Current BLS HCP required. Maintain a valid WA State Driver’s License, personal automobile insurance, and is insurable with the District’s insurance carrier. LMHC:Education Satisfactory completion of a master’s or doctoral degree in mental health counseling, behavioral science, or a field related to mental health counseling at a nationally or regionally accredited institution. Satisfactory completion of a counseling internship or practicum with supervised direct patient care Satisfactory completion of WA State requirement for professional counseling under supervision, currently 3,000 hours of supervision in no less than 36 months. Passing score on the National Counselor Examination for Licensure and Certification, or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Active and unrestricted Washington State LMHC Licensure. Current BLS HCP required. Maintain a valid WA State Driver’s License, personal automobile insurance, and is insurable with the District’s insurance carrier. Training and Experience Two years’ experience minimum providing clinical services in the mental health field. Empathy and a person-centered approach to clients. Tolerance of stress. The ability to recognize your own limitations and respond to difficult situations. The ability to apply your knowledge and research to clinical problems. The capacity to be critical and analytical. To work in a self-motivated, independent way. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to deal with people in distress. The ability to collaborate with colleagues from other disciplines. The ability to use electronic health record.
