ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITES: Meter Diagnostic HVAC, Welder, Electrical Component, Air Compressor, and Basic Industrial Equipment Repair. HVAC, Welder, PLC, and Electrical Component Diagnosis. Read and Draw Wire Schematics. Bending Conduit Wire Calculations Identification of Part Numbers Computer Diagnostic of Equipment Basic Fabrication and Mobile Crane Inspection Repairs electrical problems on buildings. Repairs electrical problems on machinery. Performs preventative electrical maintenance. Performs other mechanical maintenance. Identify and report any unsafe working conditions or equipment. Follows all OSHA safety requirements, work rules and instructions, ISO procedures, job safety analysis (JSAs) and company policies and promotes a safe culture. Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance is necessary in order to perform the essential functions of this position. Other duties as assigned. Must be able to work on Saturdays and overtime as required. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. ELECTRICIAN I - this level of Electrician is responsible for learning all the Essential Functions and Major Responsibilities involved in the Electrician I position under close Supervision. Individuals in this position must be able to do meter diagnostic, HVAC repair, welder repair, read and draw wire schematics, electrical component repair, bending conduit, wire calculations, basic fabrication, basic mobile, and have the recommended electrical, crane, forklift, and arc flash training certification(s). ELECTRICIAN II - this level of Electrician is responsible for performing all duties described for an Electrician I satisfactorily with limited Supervision. The qualifications and experience of this level of Electrician must be at an intermediate level. As additional work experience is gained, the employee may be assigned to tasks that are more difficult in nature and require more responsibility which include HVAC diagnosis, welder diagnosis, electrical component diagnosis, identification of part numbers, air compressor repair, crane inspection, basic industrial equipment repair, and have the recommended hydraulic, welder equipment repair, blueprint certification and confined space advanced course certification(s). KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Must be able to use meters and scope for problem solving. On the job training by supervisor Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Kneeling/Crouching: Position self to kneel/crouch in tight areas for running conduit, etc. Crawling: Moving about in tight areas for running conduit, etc. Standing/Sit: Remaining upright in a stationary position, particularly for sustained periods. Pushing: Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward downward or outward. Pulling: Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw drag haul or tug objects in a sustained motion. Lifting: Raising objects from lower to higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. (The factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles. Fingering: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with whole hand or arm as in handling to printing labels, marking wires/attaching wires, etc. Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm to print labels, marking wires/attaching wires, etc. Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; those activities where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly Communicating: Expressing or exchanging ideas and information accurately, in written or diagram form. Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and making fine discriminations in sounds. Repetitive Motions: Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers such as pulling and pushing wire. Up to 2/3 of the time: Reaching: Grabbing things from a distance above or from the side. Walking: Moving about to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another Physical Requirements: Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. (If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.) Visual Acuity: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly of fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes. Vision Requirements: Less than 1/3 of the time: The worker is required to have close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less) The worker is required to have distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more) The worker is required to have color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors) The worker is required to have peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point) The worker is required to have depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships) The worker is required to have the ability to adjust visual focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus) Weather Conditions: Less than 1/3 of the time: The worker is subject to inside environment conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. The worker is subject to extreme cold: Temperatures typically below 32 degrees for periods of more than one hour. (Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions such as wind and humidity.) The worker is subject to noise: There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level.
