We are looking for dedicated, caring, energetic people to join our team!Job Summary: This position performs media support and investigations as necessary to support the prosecution of cases. Assists in the process of requesting, reviewing, discovering and preparing all electronic media for the office and trials. This position also serves as administrator for the Prosecutor by Karpel system. This position also may include interview witnesses, visit the scene of an incident, process and serve subpoenas and conduct investigations that would inform prosecution in conjunction with the full-time Investigator. Review electronic media recordings, both audio and visual, to redact and prepare the evidence for courtroom presentation, disclosure to defense, and Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests. Recordings may include, but are not limited to, body worn camera video, police patrol video, 911 dispatch call audio, and cell phone video or audio. Serve as administrator of the Prosecutor by Karpel system, which includes but is not limited to adding or deleting users, conducting audits, and creating digital forms. Maintain status of cases and participate in case review meetings with attorneys. Obtain, analyze and disseminate pertinent records including court, medical, military, criminal, and psychological; reviews presentence reports, and prepare appropriate support documents. Maintain and provide subpoena service in a timely manner to assigned attorney and/or assist in obtaining subpoena services when local service is unavailable. Obtain and review case information to determine appropriate investigative methods to acquire and verify evidence with assigned prosecutors. Investigate cases which may include interviewing clients, witnesses, professional experts, law enforcement and other personnel as well as gathering evidentiary materials. Review evidence for the preparation of trials and prepares professional photographs, diagrams, maps and trial exhibits of this evidence to facilitate improved understanding of a case. May appear as a witness and testify at trials and hearings. Required Education and Experience:  Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Legal Studies or related field. A combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree. Eligible to obtain and maintain a Michigan Concealed Pistol License within one (1) year of hire.
