Lifeguard Coordinator- Full-Time

The Ocean Community YMCA is seeking a safety-focused, team-oriented Lifeguard Coordinator to lead and support our lifeguard team. This leadership role oversees hiring, training, scheduling, and supervision of lifeguards while ensuring a safe, welcoming aquatics environment for all members.  This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position. Key Responsibilities: Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise lifeguard staff Ensure compliance with YMCA safety protocols and emergency procedures Conduct in-service trainings and emergency drills Maintain certifications and staff training records Serve as a visible leader on deck, modeling YMCA core values Perform lifeguard duties as scheduled Qualifications: Current Lifeguard, CPR, AED, First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen certifications Lifeguard Instructor certification preferred (or willingness to obtain) 3–5 years aquatics experience Experience supervising or leading staff Strong communication and decision-making skills Benefits: Free YMCA membership Paid time off Health, dental, and vision benefits Retirement plan Leadership development opportunities Mission-driven, values-based work environment Opportunity to make a direct impact on community safety EOE
