If you're looking for meaningful work, a strong sense of purpose, and a place where your contributions truly matter, we invite you to consider joining us.GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITIONPerforms equipment maintenance and repairs on vehicles in the shop and in the field and ensures proper maintenance of all equipment in the department.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Inspects and repairs equipment as necessary to ensure proper operation. Travels to various jobsites and makes necessary adjustments or repairs on equipment in the field. Purchases necessary parts and supplies to maintain equipment. Performs gas and diesel engine repairs and repairs hydraulics. Performs fabrication and welding, electrical troubleshooting and repairs heavy equipment. Ensures fleet meets DOT requirements including vehicle inspections and air brakes including all documentation Assists in performing and maintaining inventory of parts and supplies; ensures that adequate quantities of parts, supplies and materials are available. Advises supervisor of concerns regarding daily maintenance of equipment and repairs. The ability to handle stress and work well with others are essential functions of this position. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned. Due to our obligation to provide continuous, reliable electric service to our customers, the ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance and the ability to work outside your regularly scheduled office hours when necessary is an essential function of the job. Maintain awareness of and compliance with applicable laws and regulations from various regulatory entities, internal policies, procedures, and directives. Ensure ongoing monitoring and timely incorporation of any changes to maintain adherence to compliance standards. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES CONT'DMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSHigh School Diploma or GED, plus at least 1-4+ years related experience and/or training. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.DOT Vehicle Inspector Certification (Must obtain within 120 days).DOT Air Brake repair and inspection certification (Must obtain within 120 days).REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSA valid driver license is requiredPREFERRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSValid Class A or B CDL.Knowledge on maintenance/repair of Aerial Devices/Sky Trim and Tractors.ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONSWhile performing the functions of this job, the employee is continuously exposed to work near moving mechanical parts; regularly exposed to work in high, precarious places, outdoor weather conditions; frequently exposed to wet or humid conditions, risk of electrical shock; and occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heat, vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.PHYSICAL ACTIVITIESWhile performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk or hear, taste or smell; frequently required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and ability to adjust focus.ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Must be able to travel to various locations and stay overnight as required to complete work assignments. Must be able to work extra hours when necessary and report to work whenever needed during non-scheduled working periods. During storm season, in and out of state storm recovery work is required. Must be able to work in extreme temperatures and at excessive heights. Must have tools required to perform duties and be able to perform routine maintenance on crew vehicles. Must have or be able to obtain CPR and First Aid Training. In pursuant of the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Act 593, this position is a designated safety-sensitive position according to AECC/AECI standards and processes. Nearest Major Market: Little Rock
