Job Description

A client is looking for a Release Train Engineer to support multiple Agile teams by helping them plan, coordinate, and deliver work in a consistent and predictable way. On a day to day basis, the RTE will work closely with Product, Architecture, and delivery leads to understand priorities, plan upcoming work, and make sure teams are aligned on what they are building and why. They are responsible for running key SAFe events such as PI Planning, ART syncs, and retrospectives, and for making sure those sessions produce clear outcomes like committed plans, identified risks, and visible dependencies on the program board. Throughout each Program Increment, the RTE will actively monitor progress across roughly five Agile teams (with the potential to support more as work grows). This includes tracking delivery status in Jira, reviewing dashboards and metrics, and helping teams manage dependencies, risks, and blockers that could impact timelines. As issues come up, the RTE will help coordinate conversations across teams, escalate when needed, and work with the right partners to keep work moving forward. A large part of the role is making sure information is clear and accessible, maintaining documentation in Confluence, ensuring Jira stories and projects are structured correctly, and helping teams tell a clear story about their work through data. This person will also spend time communicating progress and concerns to leadership and stakeholders. This often means pulling data into Excel, creating summaries or presentations in PowerPoint, and translating delivery details into clear, understandable updates. Lastly, the RTE will help reinforce Agile and SAFe best practices by coaching teams and leaders on planning, execution, and continuous improvement, with the goal of improving how these teams work together over time. This person needs to be comfortable with pay at 70-75/hr depending on experience.
