Job Title: Special Education Paraeducator Location: Manheim PA Position Overview We are seeking three dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team at the Central Education Center. In this role, you will provide critical academic and behavioral support to students with diverse needs across our Autistic Support, Emotional Support, and Integrated Emotional Support programs. You will work closely with case managers and behaviorists to implement individualized educational plans, ensuring students (ranging from Kindergarten through age 21) receive the specialized instruction and personal care they need to thrive and eventually transition back to their home districts or community settings. Shift Options Shift A: 7:30 AM - 3:00 PM (Monday - Friday) Shift B: 8:30 AM - 3:15 PM (Monday - Friday) Note: Both shifts include a 30-minute unpaid break. Placement may be with Elementary, Middle, or High School levels. Key Responsibilities Instructional Support: Deliver 1-on-1 or small group instruction under the direction of a lead teacher, focusing on cognitive, motor, and self-help skills. Behavioral Management: Implement Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) policies and monitor student behavior to maintain a safe, productive learning environment. Personal Care: Assist students with daily living activities, including feeding, toileting, diapering, and maintaining personal hygiene. Physical Assistance: Support students with orthopedic equipment, including lifting, positioning, and repositioning students with physical disabilities. Collaboration: Work alongside teachers, specialists, and caseworkers to track student progress and prepare students for mainstreaming or transition programs. Safety & Monitoring: Maintain a keen awareness of environmental hazards and monitor the health conditions of students throughout the school day. Qualifications & Requirements To ensure the safety and success of our students, all candidates must meet the following compliance standards: Current Clearances: All background checks and clearances must be dated within the past 12 months (with the exception of Child Abuse Training, which is valid for 5 years). Health Screening: Must provide proof of a negative TB Test completed within the last 90 days. Soft Skills: Ability to work cooperatively in a team-oriented environment and remain adaptable to the individual needs of students with complex disabilities. Physical Ability: Must be able to assist with the physical positioning and personal care of students as required.
