Sanitation Technician

Job Title: Sanitation Technician Job DescriptionThe Sanitation Technician position is responsible for the cleaning and upkeep of the entire plant and grounds, ensuring a sanitary and safe environment for food production.Responsibilities Sanitize and maintain cleanliness of all plant areas, including Mill Building, Office Building, Warehouse, Loadout Area, railcars, Feed Shed, B-Mill loadout room, Annex, and Tank area. Clean and inspect finished product bins and conduct MSS responsibilities. Perform tasks such as sweeping, shoveling product piles, and climbing ladders as necessary. Operate equipment such as tractors or forklifts after appropriate training. Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety regulations as per company standards. Clean assigned areas daily and manage mill chokes, transporting them to designated areas for re-work, feed, or disposal. Brush down mill equipment and overhead pipes, keeping floors clean with dry and wet mops. Wet-clean dirty areas using appropriate cleaning chemicals. Assist with changing filters and other janitorial duties. Clean load-out tanks for product loading and assist with working sifters and changing rolls on repair days. Help unload freight shipments and cross-train in other departments as backups. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety regulations. Experience in sanitation, janitorial duties, and general labor within the food industry. Additional Skills & Qualifications Trainability on equipment such as tractors or forklifts. Willingness to cross-train in other departments.
