Part-Time, Non-Union, Non-Exempt Position$16.94 per hour, 25 hours per weekMonday through Friday, 9:00am-2:00pmBASIC FUNCTION OF MAINTENANCE & CUSTODIAL WORKER: Supports overall maintenance and custodial operations and ensures the routine upkeep and functionality of NOI buildings and grounds. Perfoms event set up tasks, deliveries, preventative maintenance. and inventory management. RESPONSIBILITIES OF MAINTENANCE & CUSTODIAL WORKER: Assist in maintenance and repairs of buildings, including minor repairs, painting, office reconfigurations, and general building upkeep. Maintain outdoor facilities and grounds, including routine trash pickup, landscape work, lawn mowing, trimming, weeding, and general clean-up of parking lots and walkways. Perform daily custodial duties, such as dusting, cleaning windows, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, trash removal, and ensuring restrooms are clean and well-stocked. Set up and breakdown furniture and equipment for events and meetings. Move furniture and files as needed, and routinely organize storage and inventory areas. Assist in monitoring facilities and grounds for safety hazards, and promptly report/address issues. Utilize the agency's work order system to efficiently log, track, and manage assigned tasks. Be available to work early mornings, nights and/or weekends, particularly in adverse weather conditions or emergencies. Plan and conduct snow removal and other weather-related maintenance tasks as needed. Open and close buildings as assigned, may include disarming and setting alarm systems. Transport agency donations and deliveries as needed. Assist in planning and conducting regular inspections and fire drills. Perform any other related duties as assigned to support the overall mission of the agency. Requirements REQUIREMENTS OF MAINTENANCE & CUSTODIAL WORKER:Education: High School or G.E. D. preferred Experience: 2 years of general maintenance related work experience. Job Skills: Basic carpentry and maintenance skills Basic math skills Solid communication skills Basic HVAC skills preferred Licenses /Certifications: Current Connecticut driver's license, own transportation and current CT required insurance.
