Salary : $38,958.40 - $44,802.00 Annually Location : Clemmons, NC Job Type: Full Time Job Number: 08737 Department: Parks and Recreation Opening Date: 02/25/2026 Closing Date: 3/8/2026 11:59 PM Eastern General Statement of Duties Forsyth County's Park and Recreation has a great opportunity to work outdoors with the Tanglewood golf maintenance staff. We have an opening for a Golf Technician III which plays a leadership role in performing maintenance tasks and projects on the Tanglewood golf courses. This position is responsible for the maintenance and repair of the pump station and irrigation system for the golf courses. Other tasks include performing tree removal, operating equipment such as a backhoe, skid steer, loader and other heavy equipment, along with performing general maintenance tasks on the golf courses. Work schedule is Monday through Friday and every other weekend. May - September 6:00 am - 2:30 pm October - April 6:30 am - 3:00 pm Distinguishing Features Candidates should have the following knowledge, skills and abilities: Considerable knowledge of the maintenance, operation and repair of golf course irrigation systems. Working knowledge of plumbing and electrical concepts related to irrigation systems. Considerable knowledge of standard golf course maintenance practices. Ability to operate and maintain a variety of reel-type mowers and other golf grounds maintenance equipment. Ability to operate tractors, loaders, backhoes and other large equipment. Ability to perform a variety of skilled golf course maintenance duties. Knowledge of safe and efficient use of all types of golf course equipment. Minimum Education and Experience Graduation from high school or GED plus three years of experience in golf course maintenance; or Associate degree in turf management or related field and one year of relevant experience. Must have demonstrated experience repairing and maintaining irrigation systems. Pesticide license must be obtained within one year of employment. A higher education level may be considered as a substitution for all or part of the experience requirement. Drivers License is required Essential Duties and Responsibilities Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Maintains and repairs water pumps for all golf courses in the park. Changes cups on a golf course daily. Operates backhoe, bobcat and forklift to dig out leaks, remove debris or move supplies. Removes large trees on the golf course.
