Electronics Assembly/Manufacturing Process Engineers are primarily focused on Manufacturing equipment and process integrity, effectiveness, and efficiency. Taking ownership for process & equipment performance, driving continuous improvements and addressing quality issues throughout the manufacturing process. Working in a high reliability, low volume / high mix environment, the Assembly Engineer will liaise with internal customers such as Design, New Product Introduction (NPI), Manufacturing Engineering and Quality teams in order to understand drawing / build requirements. Attention to detail, excellent communication / organizational skills and an innovative approach will contribute to success within the role, working collaboratively on solutions with their peers. Duties/Responsibilities: Develop and implement robust/repeatable manufacturing processes Ownership/responsibility of process/equipment throughout the Product Value Stream Machine program generation and platform support for Electronics Manufacturing equipment & processes (See below). Implementation of Engineering Change Notes (ECN) or MCN's (Manufacturing Change Notices) Analysis and collaboration with Design teams (support in DFM meetings) Drive "Zero-Defect" Quality levels Achieve On Time Delivery targets Effective use of manufacturing data and analysis techniques to proactively identify and address issues, driving systemic Root Cause/Corrective Action Report and maintain Process/Equipment Engineering metrics, track performance & yields against team KPIs and Individual Goals & Objectives Drive continuous improvements through the use of Best in Class and World Class Manufacturing principles Working knowledge of Electronics Manufacturing processes & methodologies Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Experience working in a high reliability electronic assembly environment (Defense / Medical / Aerospace). Applicants from a Commercial Electronics background are also encouraged to apply. PFMEA experience Understands the principles of 6 Sigma (or equivalent methodology) and Lean Manufacturing Knowledge and experience of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) SPC knowledge to control process performance Familiarity with IPC-A-610 and or J-STD-001 guidelines (including recent revision updates) ESD awareness Amphenol offers a competitive salary and benefits.
