Your Role Under the direction of the Director of Logistics, assures that logistic arrangements are made on purchase orders issued for materials that require Brenntag Southwest arranged transportation in a complete, accurate and timely manner. Responsibilities Follow all operating procedures, work instructions, and be familiar with the Quality System Manual. Report all non-conformances as soon as they occur using proper documentation. Assure all shipments routed are shipped only on approved carriers. Assure that all carriers used will meet specific requirements as requested by the customers of Brenntag Southwest. Coordinate daily rail shipments, including routing, scheduling, and tracking. Communicate with rail providers to book cars, monitor transit status, and resolve service issues. Collaborate with warehouses, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure shipment accuracy and readiness. Analyze transit times, costs, and performance metrics to support continuous improvement. Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, safety standards, and company policies. Understand and document specific vendor transport requirements. Follow up on all carrier/supplier non conformances related to transportation. Negotiate freight rates with approved carriers. Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time by Supervisor. Carrier arrangements for purchase and transfers going to Alaska. Your Profile Education and Experience: Associates of Arts or Science Degree in a related field of study or commensurate of education and experience within a similar role required. Experience within Chemical Distribution preferred. Employment is contingent upon completion of a background investigation, E-Verify, and pre-employment drug screening. General Knowledge: Understanding of company policies, procedures, and job description. Good verbal and communication skills. Computer literate. Good organizational skills. Ability to expedite and problem solve. Minimum of three years of transportation or related experience. Working knowledge of transportation requirements for industrial chemicals. Responsibilities: Materials-Effective care and use of office supplies, computers, fax, copy machine, telephones, and files. Records- Maintain confidentiality of customer, supplier, and intracompany information. Purchases - Completion of all transportation requirements and respond to purchasing or branches in a timely manner. Working Conditions: Working hours are assigned by Supervisor. Work is performed inside an office. Physical Requirements and Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
