System on Chip Architect Subject: Job Opportunity: System on Chip Architect, SoC Architect Dear [Candidate/Team], We are excited to share an opening for the position of Technical Lead to drive the development of a RISC-V Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) System on a Chip (SoC), supporting both defense and commercial applications. What You'll Do: Lead a cross-functional team of hardware engineers, software developers, and verification engineers to define, design, simulate, fabricate, and iterate a production-ready RISC-V ASIC SoC based on our client's secure RISC-V CPU. The primary focus will be on turning existing RTL designs into a fully verified ASIC product using industry-standard methodologies including synthesis, place-and-route, and verification. Act as the main technical liaison with pilot customers, internal teams, and external specialists to capture product features, use cases, and functional requirements. Finalize and maintain the microarchitecture definition and complete ASIC specifications including performance, I/O, power, area, cost, and security functionalities. Develop and oversee a thorough verification strategy encompassing testbench development, functional and performance verification, ensuring high coverage and first-pass success. Continuously explore new ASIC technologies and methodologies to enhance design quality and efficiency. Manage product roadmap prioritization aligning technical feature inclusion with market needs and competitive advantage. Break down product plans into actionable tasks, conduct design reviews, and lead team demonstrations. Identify and collaborate with strategic partners to augment development, marketing, and sustainment capabilities. Required Qualifications & Experience: Proven experience designing and fabricating ASICs. Over 8 years of ASIC design and architecture experience. Strong technical background with hands-on experience in ASIC product development. Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field. Proficiency in RTL coding (Verilog or VHDL), ASIC design flow, and EDA tools. Deep knowledge of ASIC architectures, digital logic, clocking methodologies, and low-power design techniques. Experience with standard ASIC design and verification methodologies including RTL synthesis, place-and-route, timing closure, UVM, and SystemVerilog. Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to work. Preferred Qualifications: Active or recently held US Security Clearance. In-depth understanding of microprocessor markets and processor architectures. Knowledge of applied cryptography and cybersecurity. Experience applying cybersecurity principles to operational technology and embedded systems.
