Redefine Recovery Where Teamwork Meets the Heartland Physical Therapist - Athletics & School Sports Focus Make Movement Matter in a Region That Champions Community and Competition In a region where the community shows up for every tipoff and every kickoff, and where small-town spirit still fills the stands, your role as a Physical Therapist carries real weight. We're hiring a licensed, motivated Physical Therapist to serve as a cornerstone for student-athlete wellness. This is not your average outpatient gig. It's an integrated role focused on youth and school sports - where you'll not only support rehab and recovery but also help prevent injuries, build strength, and champion safe return-to-play protocols. You'll be an ally to coaches, a resource to parents, and a trusted presence in the lives of young athletes working hard to perform their best. This is purpose-driven care in a region that still gathers around bonfires, honors its Friday night heroes, and believes in showing up for one another. What You'll Do Provide sports-focused physical therapy evaluations and treatment for student-athletes at middle and high schools in the area Collaborate closely with athletic trainers, coaches, and physicians to develop comprehensive recovery and return-to-play programs Deliver targeted interventions - including therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, and neuromuscular reeducation - customized for youth athletes Travel between partner schools and community clinics to offer in-season and off-season therapy services Track patient progress, document treatment, and adjust care plans in real time Educate student-athletes, families, and school staff on injury prevention, performance optimization, and wellness best practices Serve as a resource during athletic events when needed, offering guidance and emergency support in collaboration with training staff Contribute to a growing regional initiative to elevate youth athletic health and long-term physical resilience What You Bring Education: Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent from an accredited institution Licensure: Current Physical Therapy license in Iowa and/or Nebraska (or eligibility to obtain) Experience: Previous experience working with youth, adolescents, or athletic populations strongly preferred Certifications: CPR/BLS required; CSCS, SCS, or sports-specific certifications are a plus Skills: Strong communication, active listening, and an intuitive sense of how to motivate young athletes Mindset: You believe in balancing strength and safety, and know how to support both competition and recovery with empathy Why This Role Stands Out Unlike traditional therapy roles, this position gives you real variety and real community visibility. Your work won't be confined to a clinic. One day you may be helping a high school senior get back on the field for playoffs. The next, you'll be guiding a middle schooler through their first post-op rehab journey. You'll be part educator, part mentor, and part hero to kids whose biggest dream is just to get back in the game. It's a role that matters - not just in records and ROM scores, but in confidence restored and futures reimagined. Compensation & Benefits Competitive base salary (commensurate with experience and certifications) Mileage reimbursement for regional travel Full benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage 401(k) with employer matching Generous PTO, sick leave, and paid holidays Continuing education stipends and licensure support Mentorship and leadership development pathways Opportunities to participate in school and community athletic initiatives Why This Region Moves With Heart Between the dynamic downtown energy of Omaha and the suburban charm of West Des Moines lies a region brimming with natural beauty, friendly faces, and community pride. Rolling farmlands stretch beneath wide-open skies. Local sports teams unite towns on brisk fall nights. And here, healthcare professionals are respected - not just for what they do, but for how they show up. Whether you're hiking through Hitchcock Nature Center, grabbing a post-shift sandwich from a family-run deli, or joining in a community festival complete with marching bands and kettle corn, there's a feeling here that's hard to find elsewhere - a sense that your work matters, and your presence belongs. The cost of living is low. The quality of life is high. And the region's commitment to wellness, education, and youth athletics makes this a place where Physical Therapists can thrive both professionally and personally. The Team You'll Join You won't be going it alone. You'll be supported by a multidisciplinary team that includes athletic trainers, orthopedic specialists, primary care physicians, and fellow PTs who value collaboration over competition. Our shared goal? Empower the next generation to move better, recover smarter, and live stronger. Whether it's a student training for their first varsity season or a senior trying to make it through their last, your impact will echo long after the final whistle.
