Job Opportunity: Nurse Practitioner - Surgery - Cardiothoracic Join our dedicated team in Colorado Springs, Colorado!We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to become a vital member of our innovative cardiac surgery team. With a commitment to world-class cardiothoracic care, you will provide advanced clinical services within a supportive, patient-centered environment. Job Responsibilities: Provide advanced clinical care for cardiothoracic surgery patients with a focus on compassionate care. Assist in cardiac surgeries, including performing endoscopic vein harvesting and first assisting as needed. Manage ICU and cardiovascular surgical patient care, including rounding and evaluations. Participate in two full-day clinics weekly and see additional patients as required. Rotate through operating room coverage Monday through Friday. Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals. Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic tests. Develop and implement care plans based on patient outcomes. Order medications and write prescriptions adhering to regulatory policies. Perform bedside procedures appropriate to the patient population. Document all care delivered in a timely and high-quality manner. Exhibit expert clinical judgment and function independently under physician supervision. Maintain continuing medical education to meet state and national requirements. Adapt and thrive in a high-stress, dynamic clinical setting. Demonstrate flexibility, teamwork, problem-solving skills, and a positive cultural fit. Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with a Master s degree in Nursing. Nurse Practitioner Certification by ANCC or AANPCB. A minimum of 3+ years of cardiac or cardiovascular surgery experience with ICU management or endoscopic vein harvesting. Unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license to prescribe medications. BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross. No current or prior sanctions or exclusions from relevant agencies. License and Certification Requirements: Current COVID vaccination. Unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license.
