Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit Discipline: RN Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel ICU Registered Nurse (RN) We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our critical care team. This role is ideal for a skilled nurse who thrives in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment and is confident providing comprehensive care to critically ill patients. Position Summary: The ICU RN delivers high-quality, patient-centered care to critically ill patients by utilizing the nursing process, advanced clinical judgment, and evidence-based practice. The nurse will monitor complex patient conditions, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and respond quickly to changes in patient status. Key Responsibilities: Provide direct nursing care to critically ill ICU patients Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry Administer medications, titrate drips, and manage life-support equipment Perform detailed patient assessments and respond to emergent situations Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the medical record Adhere to safety, infection control, and regulatory standards Requirements: Active RN license Minimum of 1 year RN experience ACLS AND BLS CERTS Critical care experience required Ability to read and interpret telemetry Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills Ability to work independently during night shifts NO ON-CALL Every other weekend required About American Consultants Since 1989, American Consultants has been the leader in national healthcare staffing and consulting services.
