Details 8-bed Cardiothoracic Surgical ICU nested within a 30-bed ICU Patient population includes immediate post-op cardiac surgery patients (CABG, TAVR) and critically ill patients with multi-system organ failure Patient ratios are acuity-dependent: 1:1 for fresh post-op patients and 1:2-3 for more stable patients Manages critical drips with titration and cares for intubated patients on mechanical ventilators Performs hemodynamic monitoring including Swan catheter management Ancillary tech support is limited and census-dependent; position is primarily total care 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend, and every other holiday Epic EMR experience required Requirements Active OH RN license or compact RN license currently in hand Current certifications: BLS required; ACLS required Minimum of 2 years of CVICU experience as an RN Current experience recovering immediate post-op CABG and TAVR patients Current experience managing Swan catheters Epic EMR experience required Impella, VAD, IABP, and CRRT experience preferred Candidate must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position Proof of address required for consideration (e.g., driver's license, voter registration card, federal tax return, military Form 2058, or W2 from the US government) Full SSN and date of birth (MM/DD) required for consideration 1 supervisory reference required for consideration Additional Information Conducts ongoing patient assessments, develops and implements care plans, and evaluates treatment effectiveness for critically ill patients Manages life-supporting technology including ventilators, CRRT, IABP, Impella, and ECMO Serves as point of contact for care coordination across hospital departments and for family members or caregivers Acts as a patient safety advocate through participation in ongoing quality improvement initiatives Navy blue scrubs required EKG exam is required on the first day with two attempts allowed to pass; study guides will be provided Local candidates are not accepted for this position American Traveler Job ID P-680016.
