JOB OVERVIEW Job Title: Cardiologist Job Type: Permanent Full-Time Location: Goodyear, AZ Service Setting: Outpatient Clinic, Inpatient Rounding, and Diagnostic/Interventional Cardiology Services Schedule: Full-time schedule with outpatient clinic, inpatient rounding, and procedural responsibilities On-Call Expectations: Practice call one week per month; no ER call Start Date: Between June 2025 PATIENT POPULATION & SCOPE Patient Demographics: Adults and Geriatrics Average Daily Volume / Census: Active outpatient clinic and inpatient rounding within a busy cardiovascular practice Admissions & Rounding: Required for inpatient cardiology services; 1:4 weekend rounding rotation Consults & Follow-Ups: Ongoing cardiology consults, diagnostic interpretations, and continuity management Case Mix/Clinical Focus Areas: General cardiology, noninvasive diagnostics, cardiac catheterization, and cardiovascular disease management FACILITY & TEAM DETAILS Beds in Department/Unit: Cardiology services supported across a multi-location practice and affiliated hospital settings EMR System: Modern electronic medical record systems used across practice locations Specialty Backup: Collaboration with cardiologists, APPs, and integrated hospital specialists Support Staff: Team includes 2 physicians and 3 APPs, supported by clinical and administrative personnel Leadership & Reporting Structure: Reports to practice leadership and Medical Director Reason for Opening: Organizational growth and increasing patient demand CREDENTIALING & COMPLIANCE Board Requirements: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiology; certification required within 5 years of residency DEA & Certifications: ACLS (AHA) required for sedation privileges; BLS (AHA) required for all specialties Credentialing Timeline: 6090 days Visa Sponsorship: J-1 visa eligible; H-1B not available COMPENSATION & PERMANENT BENEFITS Incentive Bonus Structure: Productivity bonus beginning Year 1 CME Allowance: One week CME leave with reimbursement PTO & Holidays: 4 weeks PTO + 5 days sick leave Health & Retirement Benefits: Health benefits package Retirement offerings not specified Life & Disability Coverage not specified Malpractice Insurance details not specified REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS Board Status: BC/BE in Cardiology State License Required: Active Arizona license or eligibility via IMLC Certifications: ACLS and BLS required Experience: More than 2 years preferred Additional Requirements: Flu and COVID vaccination compliance; ability to enter hours into Vemsta platform DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide full-spectrum inpatient and outpatient cardiology care Interpret EKGs, echocardiograms, nuclear stress tests, treadmill stress tests, vascular ultrasound, holter monitors, and event monitors Perform interventional cardiology procedures including diagnostic catheterization, emergency and elective angioplasty, and stenting Participate in practice call one week per month and 1:4 weekend rounding rotation Maintain accurate clinical documentation and support team-based patient care Contribute to practice growth and uphold high standards of cardiovascular care COMMUNITY & LOCATION HIGHLIGHTS About the Area: Goodyear is a rapidly expanding community offering suburban comfort less than 20 minutes from downtown Phoenix Local Attractions: Golf courses, hiking, lakes, parks, sports venues, and scenic mountain views from Sierra Estrella and White Tank Mountains School System: Public, charter, and private options available throughout the West Valley Housing: Affordable and diverse housing with modern suburban amenities Demographic & Professional Profile: Appeal for families, professionals, and those seeking active lifestyles Nearby Cities: Close proximity to Phoenix and Scottsdale Nearest Airport: Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport Distance from Airport: Approximately 30 minutes by car
