Packer / Packaging Operator - 2nd shift

1st, 2nd and 3rd shift is M-F - paid 30-minute lunch (and 2 paid breaks) Starting wage is $17.75 - temp to hire job opportunity! Responsibilities for the Packager: The Mixer / Packer will be responsible for the following: • Continuously and repeatedly load packaging and raw materials. • Pack off finished product, perform checks on critical timing of equipment, prepare equipment half an hour prior to shift start. • Make product change-over, package size changes, minor repairs on equipment, • Understand scheduling and can adequately perform in the absence of the crew leader • Be responsible for quality and quantity of production on a daily basis. • Understand and practice loss control of raw and packaging materials • Follow detailed procedures and complete paperwork accurately to ensure safe, consistent, and quality product, • Work with teams to identify process issues and improvement opportunities by actively participating in continuous improvement activities • Actively promote safety and identify unsafe actions and conditions. • Perform other duties as required. Required Qualifications for the Packaging Operator: • Must be able to lift 25 & 50 pounds frequently and repeatedly. • Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of the use of proper tools. • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure. • Must be able to solve practical problems. • Ability to perform accurate data entry. • Experience following detailed procedures and completing accurate paperwork. • Experience adhering to and following company, plant, regulatory, and customer standards.
