Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: 03/30/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - Med Surg Orthopedic Job Details: • Must be charge capable and willing to take charge responsibilities • Orthopedic experience required with minimum 2 years of specialty experience • EPIC experience required • Patient ratio of 1:5 or 1:6 • Care for patients with total joint replacements (knees, hips, shoulders), ortho spine procedures (ACDF, TILF), and other orthopedic surgeries including tendon repairs and revisions • Work with specialized equipment including bladder scanner, Hoyer lift, and orthopedic braces • Required certifications: ACLS and BLS (AHA certifications required) • No on-call requirements • May float to other inpatient units including rehab, post-op trauma, ortho neuro trauma, med-surg, oncology, and observation • Does not accept first-time travelers or candidates with less than 2 years of experience • RTO restrictions apply - no RTO greater than 2 weeks and must be discussed during interview • Block scheduling not accommodated • Must live over 65 miles from facility (local travelers not accepted) • Louisiana Compact license or Louisiana license required upon submittal • NURSYS reports must be current within 4 weeks of submission • May be assigned to Emergency Team during emergency events with expectation to stay at facility until event passes • Orientation held 5 days a week with billable modules Facility: This orthopedic specialty center provides comprehensive orthopedic care and surgical services.
