Lifeguard Position At Crane Beach Founded in 1891 by a group of visionary volunteers, The Trustees of Reservations (The Trustees) is the nation's premier conservation and preservation organization. The Trustees' preserves, for public use and enjoyment, properties of exceptional scenic, historic, and ecological value in Massachusetts. Our properties are open to all, and we thrive by involving as many people as possible in all that we do. We aim to protect special places for future generations to enjoy in perpetuity, and have helped protect more than 50,000 acres, including 27,000+ acres on more than 120 reservations that are open to the public. As a non-profit conservation organization, we are funded and supported entirely by our visitors, supporters, volunteers, and our 100,000 Member households. Salary/Hourly Rate: $19 - $21/hour Hours per week: 16-40 Job Classification: Seasonal, non-exempt Job Type: Onsite Duration: May - September Location: Crane Beach, Ipswich, MA As a Lifeguard at Crane Beach, you are on duty daily from Memorial Day weekend until Labor Day. You will provide a safe environment to the patrons at Crane Beach, both in the water and out. You will keep vigilant supervision over your respective duty station and must have the ability to act professionally and promptly in dangerous or life-threatening situations. Specifically, you'll: Provide a supervised and safe swimming area within the guarded section of the beach. Ensure patrons follow posted rules and regulations. Provide emergency care to patrons in the swim area and other sections of the property. Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation. Maintain all safety equipment, vehicles and supplies. Participate in daily workouts and regular training. This is a limited-term, non-exempt position [16-40hrs/wk] reporting directly to the Crane Beach Public Safety Manager.
